Hi – I haven’t even started with my site yet, so forgive me if this is naive…

I love the look of ReciPress. I have 2 questions.

    1. Will I be able to run it inside a larger WordPress blog that may have other Plugins of various sorts dealing with entirely different subjects (wine regions, travel for example)

    2. Will I be able to¬† integrate other WP widgets / Plugins to interact with the data in ReciPress? I am keen to adapt my recipes for wine and food pairing. For this to work well I’d like to be able to have a search / category function that would allow multiple category searches – eg dishes which are based on chicken and have and earthy flavour and a creamy texture. Ideally I’d lke this to be a ‘free’ function where the user chooses the inputs rather than me setting them in stone upfront as saved searches as these might not reflect what the user wants to search on…I’m not sure if this Plugin exists in WP, but if it di, could I integrate it with ReciPress?(!)

    Hope this makes sense.

    Matt,

While ReciPress hasn’t (for obvious reasons) been tested with every other theme and plugin, it has been developed in a way that should make it compatible with anything else you plan to run.

Search is something that WordPress just isn’t good at on it’s own. There are advanced search plugins out there that help, but I haven’t personally used any.

You may have seen in the features page that Advanced Search is an add-on that I’m currently developing and you can test what I have so far on the demo site. It is based on the taxonomies that ReciPress creates, ingredients, cuisines, courses, and skill levels. WordPress does a good job of allowing us to query posts based on multiple terms, so that is why the addon works that way.

I hope this answers your questions and helps you with you decision to use ReciPress or not. Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.
